Here you will find a list of our current 'buy one get the second half off (equal or lesser value)' B12H wines. These wines represent great values for everyday wines. We taste each offering and after careful consideration, as well as a little debating, we choose the wines we feel offer the best bang for the buck. Then we work with the distributors to offer you the best possible pricing. The numbers at the end of the stock number are the per bottle price when you buy two. Example SNVV974. $9.74 is the per bottle price.
Crios de Susana Balbo Torrontes 2006
Wafts of orange blossom in the nose, with saturated flavors of tangerine and honeysuckle; excellent mouth feel and a long, lingering finish. It's reminiscent of a muscat with honeysuckle, grapefruit and floral aromas. In the mouth it's got a lot of acidity under a creamy texture. Try with a well-seasoned crab cake. (Argentina) SNCT1124 $14.99
Crios Syrah-Bonarda 2004 Dark reddish/purple color. Intense aroma of black raspberries. Ripe red plum and black raspberry flavors with a slight spicy character and a long juicy finish. A fun wine to try with a wide range of red wine friendly foods. (Argentina) SNCB1199 $15.99
Vivir Vivir Ribera Del Duero 2004This staggeringly great value is plump and juicy, with notes of plum, mocha, black currants, blackberries and tobacco. Excellent now, but should hold for 2 to 3 more years." SNVV974 - $12.99
Araco Rioja Cosecha 2004"Blackberry and blackcurrant lead the way on the nose, followed by notes of loam and dried herbs. In the mouth the wine is direct, plump, and pulpy, with a wonderful fruit/acid balance. The wine finishes with an admirably grapey length for a wine of this price." SNAR824 - $10.99
Characteristics: Ruby red,
tending toward garnet, nuances of cherries and strawberries in the nose, a
dry, firm, ethereal taste and a long finish. Grapes: 50% Sangiovese, 50%
Montepulciano
Monte Schiavo "Pallio San Floriano" Superiore 2005
Characteristics: A
brilliant, pale straw color with green reflections, a fruity, vinous
fragrance and nuances of ripe apricots and raisins. A fresh, crisp taste and
a clean finish. Lemon freshness in the mouth and almonds in the finish and a
touch of sage.
Food Affinities: One of Italy's finest wines for fish, including shellfish.
Try it with salmon, trout and shrimp as well as with white meats, casseroles
and aromatic dishes; sea bass, lobster and curry dishes. SNMSV974 - $12.99
Falcon Hill Dry Riesling 2006
Falcon Hill Dry Riesling has lovely crisp notes of yellow apple, pear, and grapefruit. It is dry, but smooth and round on the palate. It gives consumers an alternative to Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chablis. Riesling has long been acknowledged by wine writers as the world’s most versatile wine grape. Although Germany is famous for producing sweet versions of Riesling, they have been producing quality dry styles of the varietals for many decades. SNFH824 $10.99
Di Lupo Pinot Grigio 2006 Characteristics: A pale straw
color, the fresh aroma of tropical fruits, crisp, dry and light on the
palate, with a clean finish. SNDLPG974 - $12.99
Di Lupo Chianti Reserve 2001 Characteristics: A brilliant ruby
color, violets and strawberries in the nose, a dry, fruity, harmonious taste
and a pleasant finish. Vinified to be enjoyed young. SNDLCR1124 - $14.99
Dievole Primadonna Chianti Classico 2002
Dievole' s first lady, Countess Ildegonda Camajori Terrosi Vagnoli brings you their first Sangiovese and the first harvest from the estates own native mothervine cuttings. The wine is earthy, hearty and generously fruity. As gentle and lovely as the Primadonna. SNDP974 - $12.99
Sidewise Pinot Noir 2003
Pinocchio Nero d' Avola 2006 Nero d'Avola is Sicily's most
popular red grape, used in the region's bestselling varietal wine. Until the
1980s, commercial use of Nero d'Avola was dedicated almost exclusively to
fortifying weaker reds in France and northern Italy. In the past Nero
d'Avola, like other Sicilian reds, was often syrupy, with an alcohol content
reaching eighteen percent --too strong as table wines. The name, which
literally means "Avola Black," is a good description. New viticulture
techniques and night harvesting --placing the grapes in cooled vats to
present premature fermentation-- have been used by vintners to retain flavor
without producing an overpowering wine. The result is often compared to
Syrah. Pinocchio is one of the better ones, striking a good balance
between body and flavor. An impressive wine. SNP899 - $11.99
Le Pas de la Beaume 2006
Tasting note : "A pleasant nose of red fruit , "garrigue" (Provence countryside) and spices. The mouth is fruitful and supple with a long lasting finish. The tannic structure reveals a good ageing potential." SNLPB974 - $12.99
Alamos Chardonnay 2006 "Nicolas Catena's Alamos brand has fashioned a fabulous value with its smoky white fruit-scented 2004 Chardonnay. Medium-bodied and elegant, this wine coats the taster's palate with layers of well-focused, rich, plump apples and pears that are intermingled with notes of buttered toast. In addition, its well-balanced, highly expressive and refined personality has outstanding concentration and length." SNAC974 - $12.99
Woop Woop Shiraz 2006 SNWW975 $12.99
Woop Woop Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 SNWW975 $12.99
Woop Woop Chardonnay 2006 SNWW975 $12.99
Chateau Le Payral Bergerac Sec 2006 The Bergerac Dry White is very flavorful and extremely round in the mouth due in part to the blend of the three local white grape varieties, Sauvignon, Sémillon and Muscadelle, and also to the particular methods of vinification (skin contact, lees contact). (France) SNCP900 $12.00
Chateau de la Ragotiere Muscadet Serve et Maine 2005 Bright and fresh, this wine combines juicy, concentrated tangerine and green apple ripeness with surprisingly snappy acidity for the vintage giving it real vibrancy and raciness. A strongly saline undertone brings shellfish to mind; the wine’s richness is suited to soft-shell crab or sautéed prawns rather than oysters.” (Loire, France) SNCR900 $12.00
Domaine de Bernier Chardonnay 2005
Amazin Zinfandel 2006 This Russian River zinfandel has true characteristics of a great zinfandel. Rich ripe fruit flavors of raspberries and blackberries mingled with hints of chocolate and subtle spice. The mouth feel is complex and velvety. An “Amazin” zin all the way. (Sonoma, California) SNAZ1199 $15.99
